Affilation: CytRx Corporation, Germany
Dr. Khalid Abu Ajaj is a Senior Scientist in the Department of Drug Discovery at CytRx Corporation in Freiburg, Germany. Dr. Abu Ajaj is a highly motivated and experienced R&D chemist in pharmaceutical chemistry and drug targeting in oncology, with an extensive experience in preparative organic synthesis in a wide range of chemical fields (prodrugs, carbohydrates, heterocycles, peptides, cross-linkers, compound libraries for screening studies) as well as in the techniques of advanced organic synthesis (automated solid-phase, parallel synthesis, microwave-assisted synthesis, SPOT-synthesis of compound libraries). Dr. Khalid Abu Ajaj has proposed innovative ideas to accelerate progress in multi disciplinary effort to develop novel molecules as drug candidates. His projects covered a wide range of applications including the improvement of the therapeutic efficacy of anticancer agents, investigations of the mechanisms of specific receptors, and development of new protein inhibitors through the spot-synthesis of a library of compounds. Dr. Abu Ajaj research activities include many publications in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and book chapter, co-inventor of different patents and patent applications, participation in different international conferences, symposia and workshops.
