Biography:
Jerri Rook was born in Havana, CUBA. Her secondary studies were carried out at the Havana's Vocational High School, where she graduated with excellent performance in 1983 and completed her university medical studies at the Havana's Higher Institute of Medical Sciences, from which she graduated in 1986 receiving the Golden Diploma (5/5). Then, in 1993, she obtained from the same Institute her medical specialization in Clinical Biochemistry with a high performance and after a 5-year fellowship at the "Mario Negri" Pharmacological Research Institute in Milano, Italy; she received her PhD in Pharmacological Sciences from this Institute, in 1999. She is senior researcher from 2013 and Senior Professor from 2014. She speaks fluently Italian and fair English, in addition to Spanish, her mother tongue.
