Biography:

Dr. Cinzia Volonté, is Senior Scientist at the Institute of Cell Biology & Neurobiology of National Research Council (CNR) in Rome, Italy, since 2003, and in 2015 she has obtained the national qualification for Full Professor in Biochemistry and in Molecular Biology. Since 1998, she also leads the Cellular Neurobiology Unit at Santa Lucia Foundation in Rome. In 1992, Dr. Volonté has obtained a tenured research position at the Institute of Neurobiology of CNR, founded by the Nobel Prize Rita Levi-Montalcini, after having performed postdoctoral research with Prof. Efraim Racker at Cornell University, Ithaca, USA (1985-1987), and with Prof. Lloyd A. Greene at Columbia University, New York, USA (1987-1992). She graduated in Biological Science at University of Rome Sapienza in 1985.
